Not mushy, tacky valentines day love.

Not put-you-on-a-pedestal crush, you make my heart flutter/beat faster, childish crush-love.

Not you complete me, we’re perfect for each other, soul-mate love.

Not sexual feelings/infatuation/lust.

Love.  Not necessarily romantic love, but true, genuine love.

Comfortable: comfortable enough to ask silly questions. Comfortable where you can speak for hours, or not speak at all, and it’s all the same.

For all time.” Not “I promise I can fix all your problems/flaws.” It’s “I will always be there for you when you can ever possibly need me, and I will always do my best.”

Love isn’t perfect.  Love isn’t like movies/books/stories/our fantasies.  Love isn’t all “what we have in common,” it’s “how our differences aren’t things we overcome, it’s things we learn from and gain from.”

I don’t think any song describes (romantic or platonic) love so perfectly as this.

And no, I have no idea why I’m up at 1:37 and talking about love.  Oh, because I’m SO FREAKING AWAKE AND I CAN’T FALL ASLEEP.
